Training information
Why and what is this?
This is simply because I've noticed that some often ask me how to make their character stronger or how to learn new techniques in a legit way. That is why I've started to write done this little guide and will try to keep it up to date at my best. So in order to make it easy and understandable for everybody, either veteran or beginner, I am going to make it a kind of like what it looks now. Hope you enjoy reading this and it will help.
What is the point of training?
They say one can't ask stupid questions, right? Hahah, but no in all honesty, it's very simple. Not only do you try to do some effort, as you show you're willing to write down something that your character(s) is trying to become better, but it will make sense. A training post shows the GM team that you're interested in letting your character become better in a way that is fun, as it's always interesting to see characters struggle to become better or hone their skills. If you post some training posts where you character is trying to achieve something and ask if it's enough (often it depends on both the quality and quantity of the training posts) to the GM team.
So yeah, training is actually the first step to for your character to become stronger.
Is there a way to speed things, when you want your character to become good at something or learn something new?
Oh there is, most certainly! After all, the Jounin-sensei's are there to help their students to become better at the fields they want to specialize themselves in. And if your sensei doesn't have the nature release that you have, you can try to look for another Jounin or ANBU or even maybe an experienced peer to learn something. But the Jounin-sensei's give the most chance that you will get to learn something as they are the most experienced with passing on experiences.
Also take in note that the ANBU aren't allowed to teach students techniques that are higher than B ranked.
Other than that, you can always try to ask around if somebody is willing to do a training with you as training with an experienced player/character is likely have more success than having your character to train alone.
What kind of trainings are there?
There are many kind of trainings. It just depends on what you want your character(s) to learn or master. One can try to think of an own training as I've developed a kind of an advanced form of chakra control training. Else you can always look the trainings up in the few links I have posted. In case you came up with an efficient way of training, then just PM me how the training works and I will post it here. With credits of course, to who earn it.
Chakra control Training
General training methods for improving one's moulding and manipulation of chakra are the Leaf Concentration, Tree Climbing, and Water Walking exercises.
Advanced nature chakra control training :
A training that has been used by many Konohagakure Shinobi and has been introduced by Gerontis. One needs to sit in a meditiation sit and then form and hold (for the whole duration of the training) the handseal that is the affinity of the chakra nature they want to train. It looks very simple, but it requires great focus, concentration and patience. The character starts moulding their chakra in a way that it seems they want to use it, but just to the state it keeps moulding in their body. It seems that they are actively moving the chakra, but don't use it. This can be very effective of effectivily learning how to improve one's chakra control. There are however some risks to it.
People that have low concentration spans will notice that if they mess somehow up that their chakra moulding will cause a burning sensation. It feels like the chakra and their blood has turned into fire, burning away tissue as the chakra is kind of running rampant. This can have some nasty results if one keeps screwing up and it's thus advised to have an experienced person to overview the first attempts of this training as they can insert their own chakra to try to calm down the chakra system of the practiser.
It's also been revealed that this is a way to learn a new chakra element (ask permission of the GM's first!) to use the handseal that is affiliated to an element. This is however not easily done as even for experienced users of this way of training need to adjust their body to the strange/new manner of the new chakra moulding.
The handseals for each basic nature :
* Keep in mind that advanced chakra natures often use one of the chakra elements affiliated handsignals.
Fire Nature :
(Tiger) or (Ram)
Lightning Nature :
(Dog) or (Monkey)
Wind Nature :
(Bird) or (Hare)
Earth Nature :
(Serpent) and (Boar)
Water Nature :
(Horse) and (Rat)
Other trainings
In order to gain more stamina (Like for example : Cliff Climbing Practice), expertise with nin-,gen- and other jutsu and such, one simply has to train like how it is explained in this thread. Any questions and just shoot them towards me.
What is the learning rate?
That depends on the rank and age. Young and low ranked characters are allowed to learn things quicker, but as long it fits the game balance. Often consul more than one GM about it to see if it's accepted, before you attempt to just learn something new. This doesn't mean older and experienced characters can't develop or learn anything, but that it takes them a bit longer. Often a genin can learn things at a rapid speed (though they won't be able to learn anything really high, due lack of experience), while a jounin might need to have some good patience, seeing they already know some things and we need to try to keep everything balanced.
A character can also learn things faster if a sensei or experienced user of what is being taught helps the one that wants to learn something new. After all, they can try to pass some experience to the other in order to speed up the process, a bit.
