Yumi landed on the couch. The house was pounding through the house she was in. Holding a cup with some alcoholic beverage in it, Yumi took a sip as she looked around. Every where people danced, made out or such stuff. Actually, she wasn't enjoying herself too much. But it wasn't that bad either. The music changed a bit to something with a slower beat and she smiled as she saw one of her friends, dancing with a guy. She held a grin on her face, which reminded Yumi of what the goal was tonight. Taking another sip, the darkbrown eyes that looked with one could call a lazy look, around. So far she saw no potential victim in the vicinity.
He sighed in frustration when he saw that the couch he had just left for 5 seconds was already taken. He cursed the girl while cruising through the dense crowd, holding two drinks. Where had Kaori gone anyways? He was only gone for a moment, and poof! Disappeared. He took a deep breath as he finally escaped the crowd and arrived at the couch again, and calculated the amount of room left in it, and noticed he and Kaori would still totally fit in it besides that person. Sitting down he gave the annoying intruder a quick look, and noticed pretty unremarkable clothes, at least compared to everyone's here, and her long brown hair, with a pony covering her forehead. Nothing that really grabbed his attention. Looking around to see if he could spot Kaori somewhere already he clumsily sipped from his drink.
Deciding she should trick somebody to come to her, Yumi caught the sight of somebody looking at her. The eyes of the young woman lightened up as she thought of one thing.
Gotcha.
She thought as she winked at him and tried to make some space, patting next to her as she gave him a curious look. He seemed interesting. At least he seemed taller and didn't just stood there like he was the perfect deal. Like some arrogant blokes had. Narrowing her eyes, she noticed the stubbles beard and brought her left hand slowly to her face, letting her fingers rest on her lower lip. Her lips slowly formed a smile towards her 'victim'.
He let his shoulders drop a bit when he noticed Kaori wasn't coming back instantly and relaxed in the sofa, leaning back against the soft cushions. He glanced at both drinks, but noticed the girl that seemed absent right before now look at him strangely, with her left hand on her lips, smiling as if he wore something of her, and she was about to rob him of it. He sent an unimpressed and rather uninterested glance back, and quickly looked out for Kaori again. Nothing.
A bit disappointed he seemed unintressed, she felt something strange. Did she had seen him before? The blond short hair was somehow familiar, but she noticed one of her friends had seen Yumi and the guy together. Making a sign, Yumi cursed her fate. She was challenged. And to make it worse, two others had noticed it as well. Returning her gaze to the boy next to her, Yumi thought of something. With the music not pounding through the house, paying a softer song, Yumi decided to lean towards him and ask him a question.
''Haai, enjoying it here?'' Yumi asked with a friendly tone and smile, after which she took a sip of her drink.
His attention was drawn by a high voice besides him and he glanced over at the girl again. She seemed strangely familiar to him now he gave her a better look, and realized taht he should answer.
"Sure am." He said in a not too unfriendly way. She was leaning over to him, and he wanted to instinctively lean to the other side, but was stopped by two individuals crashing into the seat next to him, trying to desperately choke eachother with their tongues. Nice.
Backing a bit back as she noticed the couple, Yumi felt the need to sass them away, but managed to control herself. Brushing back a few strands of hair, she glanced once more into his direction.
''So, are you here with somebody?'' Was her next question. Then she stretched her hand out and seemed to laugh shortly.
''Oh, sorry. My name is ...'' She smiled for a moment.
''Naomi. Yours?''He immediately looked at the two cups he was holding and sent her back a sort of a smile.
"Yeah, I am, wondering where she is though." He replied, looking in the crowd. When he heard her name he was about to reply his when the couple next to him suddenly bumped into him, emptying one of the drinks onto the ground, barely managing to keep one from splashing all over this girl. He sent the couple a poisonous glare, but they were too concentrated trying to figure out how a bra worked when drunk. Mumbling angry words he wondered why he even followed Kaori into these ... gross parties. Apparently she liked them. He had developped a liking for them too, but this was just... No.
Yumi had almost reached out and slapped him. But she noticed he had managed to keep her from getting soaked from the drink. Seeing it were two others, trying to make love, but were too drunk, Yumi decided something.
''Awwww, that is a shame. Come, lets go a bit away from here.'' She stood up and reached her free hand towards him, so she could lead him away from the crowded couch.
Standing up, mostly because of the couple forcing him away, he looked around to find Kaori, but found noon even remotely looking like her in the short moment he could, before he was offered a hand. Not knowing what to do he sort of akwardly accepted it, and was quickly dragged through the crowd to a more silent place. He sort of hoped Kaoei wouldn't see this. She was kind of vicious sometimes and explanations weren't really spent on her if she was in a bad mood. Well, away from the crowd was positive anyways. it'd be easier to find her from there.
Leading him through the crowd, Yumi found it annoying. With quick flashes of smiles or a glare, she managed to keep people from coming near them. So to say, as there were people everywhere. Taking him towards the kitchen, where the density of the crowd was less and where there was the alcohol, Yumi shot him a glance.
''What is your name?'' She asked, curiously and still holding on his hand. Unlike his, hers was cold, but still nothing more than holding his hand without standing too close to him.
Holding her hand with his right hand and his drink with his left, he stood there rather awkwardly in the small kitchen of the house that was slowly being destroyed by the party. Once more she asked him for his name and he dropped his cup in the sink once he had emptied it.
"I'm Kensuke." Dropping his cup was a bad idea. He hated carrying a drink on a party, but he always forgot having nothing in his hands was even more awkward.
She led him to the table where the drink was and then she realized something. His name was Kensuke? There went an ice cold thought through her head. For a moment, she considered to just walk away. Just like that. If it was Kensuke, this would become very strange. Not to say that if he would find out she was Yumi, that this could work against her. If she had just ignored the stupid idea of the 'challenge game'. But it was on and she was sure she was being watched.
''That is a nice name. Nice to meet you, Kensuke.'' Yumi told him with a friendly voice. Hopefully she could keep the masquarade on long enough. Placing her empty cup on the table, to pick up a new one, that was filled with something a bit stronger, she glanced at him.
''Are you a legal drinker?'' She asked, with a more polite tone.
"Strange you ask, but yeah, I am." He said, wondering why someone actually cared about that in a place like this. He accepted the cup and took a sip, and tasted that it was apple brandy. Hmm, at least she had a good taste. He didn't like beer, ale, no not even sake that much. Brandy however... In any case, he was glad he was able to hold something in his hands now. Looking around to find Kaori again he was glad she had to let go of his hand too to get the drinks. Finding her like that would be totally disastrous.
Though she didn't found it a disaster that he had let go of her hand, she turned around and leaned against the table. Placing her free arm around herself, she held up the cup up to her shoulderheight, her elbow leaning against her free arm.
''Not really. And seems you're thus new to these kind of parties?'' She asked. Not able to hide her amusment, it would look she was finding it funny or such. And in fact, Yumi found it funny that Kensuke hadn't changed in her opinion.
"Well you could say that I am kind of new to them, but I don't think i'll ever get used to them." He answered between two sips of the drink. It had been like 5 minutes already since Kaori had left, and he wasn't a hard person to find. So if she planned on staying away, he thought, let her find me. She can't blame me for talking to someone, right? Leaning against the kitchen wall gave this person a first decent look. She wore a rather strange, short skirt and a red blouse, and looked fairly athletic at first sight. She was probably a shinobi aswell. Her balanced movements should have betrayed that to him already, but the alcohol probably clouded his vision too much for that right now. In any case, she did in fact look a bit better than Kaori, and he instantly felt guilty for even thinknig that. In any case, despite that she seemed strangely familiar to him, he couldn't place a name on it. Perhaps it was a sister of someone he knew?
Yumi thought about a proper reaction and took a sip of her drink. He indeed looked like he was new to this all. A normal green shirt and a dark grey pants that came to his knees. Also some standard shoes. Nothing to fancy. Which was in her opinion more than okay. The need to attract attention on a party was overrated in her in opinion.
''So, you said you were with somebody here?'' She asked, trying to keep the conversation going. Though she still saw no recognization in his eyes, she wondered if he was even awkward with other people. So far, she thought it was only limited with her.
"Well yes I am, but she isn't planning to return it seems." He replied on a slightly irritated tone.
"And you? Did you come here all alone? I can't imagine anyone doing that." He replied to keep the conversation going. The apple brandy was a gift from the heavens, as it was just the little but of alcohol more he needed to loosen up. Besides that, it was delicious. If he hadn't been a full-time shinobi he'd probably drink it a lot more than just once every few weeks.
The question made her almost laugh, but she controlled herself. Taking a sip of her drink, she shook her head lightly.
''No. I came here with some friends. But to be honest between you and me.'' She flashed him a smile.
''I sometimes think they are overdoing these kind of parties. Don't get the idea of fun of crashing down a house.'' Taking another sip of her drink, Yumi was aware she would need to watch out to not get tipsy. However, with being around Kensuke, that was maybe not a wrong idea.
"Yeah, I agree. I mean, talking out of experience, having your house demolished sucks pretty much." He answered, refilling his cup.
"It hope for the host that his or her parents are far, far away from here, and do not plan to retun-rn any time soon." Taking another sip, he shook his head to test howdrunk he was. After he stopped shaking his head for about a second long he felt a bit unbalanced, and knew that he had had quite some already. Not enough to make him do anything stupid yet, but enough to become social and a lot more confident. Well, not that he wasn't confident without alcohol, but now he didn't care as much about everything happening around him anymore.
Great. Just great. He had to bring that up? Not to mention, it seems he was more for ahead of her. Taking another sip of her drink, the darkbrown eyes of Yumi didn't went away from Kensuke. She was weighing her options and then had something. Lowering her cup, she had done the tactic she had done before. To act like she was drinking. As long you kept sipping a bit or spilled your drink with holding the gaze with the other person, you wouldn't become that drunk as they did.
''Heh, but what about- Oh look!'' She nodded towards a group. They were laughing and apparently there was something going on there. A drinking game. That was what she needed.
''Feeling brave enough?'' Yumi asked, with raising her left eyebrow up to further challenge him. It was asked however in the same friendly manner as before.
Looking over to the table he felt like joining. He knew he could take more than the average person, being tall, and he was in the mood for a drink, so why not? Thereby, anything to give reason to just drinking made it better altogether.
"Are we questioning my courage now?" He replied with a grin, as he started walknig towards the table. He was still walking steady, and felt proud of his ability to judge how drunk he was.
"Don't be afraid to back our ofcourse, but you challenged me!" He said along the way, claiming a pair of chairs while the table was quickly filling with people.
Yumi followed suit as she heard his challenge. Somehow it reminded her of their first meeting togheter. Did he seriously dare to ask her that? When he took two chairs, claiming them for them, she sat next to him and laughed, holding her free hand for her mouth as she did found it a funny question.
''I think I can last longer, dear. But we will see.'' The eyes of Yumi shot around, who joined more. Half of them was already drunk. This would most likely be between her and Kensuke. Biting her lower lip, she considered her options. But did she had any now? Not really. With somebody placing a bottle of sake in front of each person that participated, there was a crowd gathering around the drinkers. Picking up her bottle, she raised it and flashed a smile in Kensuke's direction.
''Good luck.'' She winked at him before placing the bottle at her lips.
As the game progressed and the chaos became dominant, the playing cards being more often than not soaked in spilled alcohol, he downed drink after drink, untill his head felt really fuzzy and strange. Shaking his head now gave him a few moments of imbalance, and he could already imagine himself sitting there, softly moving in a strange sort of trance. And because of that image he had to laugh out loud, but that didn't stand out amongst the drunk crowd. Well, they could continue, but there wouldn't be much sense in doing so, as one of the players was lying knocked-out on the table, and two had left already. The others' intelligence level had reduced far too much for any kind of game. Putting down his glass with a smack, he sighed.
"Well, we can conclude I won." He said looking over to Naomi.
She felt her head becoming light. But she wasn't drunk, just tipsy. Or was she trying to convince herself of that. So far she had managed to keep on cheating. Most of them were too drunk to even notice. Dumbasses. But she couldn't cheat when Kensuke would glance or look at her. She reminded about what she knew about him. Or at least tried. But now he was drunk, the devious mind of Yumi kept on working.
''Pff, no way dear. You lost. Or think you can claim your victory with dancing?'' She asked, asking it in an amused tone as she looked at him with a look like she thought he wouldn't be able.
"Dancing? I am no dancer." He replied raising his shoulders as if it was clear that he had won.
"Thereby, I have nothing to prove. I just won this." He added, standing up from the table, and feeling a moment's inmabalance. He was unsteady, he did realize, but that moment you just stood up was always the worst. Walknig towards the kitchen he continued talking.
"I'm going to have something decent to drink." He was just reallly drunk. Yumi saw this as the perfect chance to leave. And she was going to, but saw one of her friends. And if it was some twisted joke of fate, it was Naomi. She frowned and Yumi understood instantly what the other said. Or at least meant with look. It was asking if Yumi had the guts or not. Realizing the social pressure of her friends, Yumi cursed softly as she went after Kensuke. And there came the feeling. This wouldn't go like she would want.
''Heey, don't leave me alone. I am alone too now.'' Hooking an arm with her, she leaned a bit against him.
''Sorry, but I just noticed that I said that too loud. Mind if I stick around? Please?'' She looked up to him with pouting her lower lip, telling the lie. There were others she could spin with ease, but she didn't want to make it too dramatic.
Holding another cup of apple brandy he raised his shoulders.
"Sure, why not?" He replied, glancing out of the window. it had been longer than an hour since he last saw Kaori, and he had been getting quite worried over her, and was in fact at the verge of going to look for her. The dark street outside lit by only a single lantern wasn't really a sight that could distract him from his troubled thoughts, but the strange effect of the alcohol on his dojutsu was. When he stared for too long at something he'd lose control over his dojutsu and would start randomly zooming in on objects, and-... Wait? Wasn't that Kaori? Frowning he tried getting a better look, and saw Kaori leaning heavily against another drunk person whom he couldn't identify. He had been annoyed when he saw her, but when he indetified that person as Hotaku he was steaming. Was she actually cheating on him with that guy? Woah. He was dragged back into reality by Naomi's voice and dropped his anger surprisingly fast, it being replaced by a sort of bitter feelind that ebbed away the longer he didn't think about her anymore. Which ofcourse did not work. It could have been anything, right? She didn't cheat on him, right? Well what do you think they're going to do, pluck flowers?
''Thanks. Come. Lets grab a drink and then dance. I can teach you.'' She said first with a cheerful voice. Quickly she managed to step in front of him and smiled. Grabbing both his hands she gained a smug on her lips.
''It will be fun. Come.~'' The voice of Yumi was now more hushed as she winked at him and lead him to the table where the cups, filled with apple brandy were standing.
Placing down his cup he grumbled something in response, and followed her down the dancing floor. Despite being more than drunk enough to be able to dance as free as a leaf in the wind, he didn't really feel like it, and kept thinking about why Kaori would've left the party together with Hotaku of all persons, both drunk beyond reason. He tried finding many scenarios where he shouldn't be worried, but in the end, they were both completely drunk and what else would she do with her ex if she left a party with him in that state.
Once they were near, she noticed he wasn't really paying attention. Pulling him closer, she looked up to him as her left hand was placed against his cheek. Her cold hand, against the warm stubble beard.
''Heey, come on. Smile a bit, relax. Forget,'' Yumi smiled as she removed her hand and gently took both his hands in hers. Walking backwards, she kept her eyes locked on his. The smug returned on her lips as there was music played with a faster beat.
''I will lead you.'' She pulled him a step closer. There wasn't much space between them.
''Just remember, just relax and forget about any worries.~''He followed her in her dancing moves, and as she continued leading him, he heard a bell ring in the back of his head. He had been in this situation once before already. And he could remember when very well. And he could remember the results very well too. Suddenly he felt really guilty about himself, dancing here with this girl he didn't even know. But hey, Kaori was cheating on him too right now, with her ex of all persons. Why not? Continuing to dance more enthusiastically, as if that though alone had suddenly broken all his frustration keeping him back from enjoying this night again.
Sensing he was finding it more fun, Yumi smug changed into a smile. The beat changed and Yumi was leaning against him as she moved her body, leading his.
''Hahaha, enjoying yourself now?'' She asked him, looking up, again raising her eyebrow as if she was continue to challenge him. Though she was close to him, she kept herself a bit at a distance. It wasn't the moment yet.
"Never stopped having fun!" He replied, pressing her body into his as she did the same. He had forgotten about everything that had been troubling him until now, and felt strangely liberated. No, no guilt could harm him now. As they continued to dance, closer and closer, he leaned forwards and kissed her.
Yumi felt his lips pressing against hers. That blasted alcohol. She had wanted to turn her head away, but she felt the soft touch on her lips. Slowly, she kept moving her body, placing her hands on his waist. Then from there she moved them towards his chest before gently pushing him back. Looking up, she then slowly smiled and beckoned him to follow as she moved a bit backwards, trying to get out of the dancing crowd.
Following her out of the crowd, he couldn't think of anything else than kissing her again, as the alcohol and the moment completely took over. Placing his hands around her back, lower than he'd ever dare when sober, waiting untill she'd stop to kiss him again, and press her body against his. While her hands had been scarily cold earlier the evening, now she felt blazing hot.
Still moving backwards, he managed to pull an arm around her again. But she continued to 'tease' him, by moving backwards and breaking the kisses. The smile kept growing as she continued her little game. But then she felt the wall at her back. Now that there was no way to escape him, Yumi felt his arm being lower than she had expected.
''Enjoying yourself, Kensuke?'' She whispered, glancing at his lips before slowly looking to his eyes. The dark brown eyes of Yumi showed no emotion, but only the same challenging look as before. Moving one of her hands on his back, rising it to his neck, she waited.
"Do you even have to ask?" He replied, and kissed her on her lips again, ignoring bumping his head against the wall as he did so. Sometimes being that tall was so clumsy, but no way he'd let that interrupt this moment.
Before she could continue to tease him, she felt his lips touching hers again. Her hand went higher, to run through his blond hair. Slowly breaking the kiss, she sighed and then kissed him, herself. This time, it didn't stay with the lips as she moved her tongue in his mouth. Her free hand further explored his back, softly rubbing it.
Her lips had been soft, and as she gave in, he let his tongue explore her mouth, all the while pressing her body against the wall with his. She kissed remarkably different from Kaori, and
tasted different too, which he found a strange experience. He lost time while they were kissing, and the entire world around his dissipated in a fuzzy haze that was designed to be ignored.
Breaking the kiss, Yumi sighed again as she glanced at him again.
''Lets go to somehwere more private?'' She whispered, her voice soft and sweet. Full of unspoken promises as she smiled and stared deeply in his eyes. She was aware that of what she had planned and so far it was going the direction she wanted.
"Yeah..." He replied on the same hushed tone, and gave her some more room as to let her lead them away. He wasn't in the state of mind to think clearly right now, but going to his own house felt wrong to him. Perhaps she even had a better alternative, who knew?
And it seemed she did. With the room given, she took one of his hands and led him somewhere. Going through the crowd, she only glanced once over her shoulder to see if he was still able to follow her. And then through the kitchen. There she opened the door, letting the cold breeze hit them, but Yumi didn't stop. Instead she continued to lead him. Outside there were some people, but most were couples. Yumi glanced around and noticed something that could serve better. Nodding towards an outhouse. The light inside was out, so that hopefully meant nobody was inside.
''Come.~'' Continue to lead him towards the outhouse, she tried to open the door. It was locked.
Thinking of something, she turned around, her back to the wooden door as she raised her right hand. Beckoning him to come closer, thus hopefully distracting him, she placed her free hand on the door handle. Converting her chakra to crystallize the metal handle, she would need to buy herself a bit of time.
He stepped closer and pressed her against the door, partially aware of her fiddling with the handle. He placed one hand in her neck and bent down to kiss her again, incapable of waiting any longer. Finally. She managed to damage the door handle to the point it broke. Now it was easy to open the door. Walking backwards, she kept kissing him back before breaking it.
''Wait, I know something fun! ~'' She told him. Putting her hands on the edge of his shirt, she slowly pulled it up and giggled.
''Now relax, sweety.'' She said as she would use his shirt to blindfold him, afterwards kissing him once more, pressing her body against his, this time his back against the wall.
After a moment's panic he kissed her back and let her do whatever she was planning to do, feeling the cold air briefly chill his chest and scar before she pressed herself against him again. Soon he felt the wall in his back and once more a brief moment of panic was followed by a surrender to the moment. He wrapped his arms around her too, and let those slide under her shirt, but let them remain at her waist, stopped in a moment' of incertainity.
Feeling his hands, she broke the kiss and giggled.
''One moment. Stay still, okay?'' She gently stepped back. With him unable to see anything, he wouldn't be able to see the swift change in the expression of her face. The whole fake act of 'Naomi' was replaced with the typical cold look of Yumi. She turned silently around. With the mastery she held over Silent Killing, she slipped away without a sound. But instead of going directly back to the party, she went away. Dusting and flexing her clothes, Yumi sighed. As she walked away, she didn't feel bad for Kensuke. After all, it was either being called a coward or something down that line or tricking a person into thinking they could get some.
As she was about to leave the perimeter of the party, she heard somebody.
''And?'' The voice of Natashi sounded, curiously as the others followed her. Yumi shrugged as she placed her hands on the back of her head.
''Think I won tonight. The dude is in the outhouse. With his shirt wrapped around his head, like a blindfold.'' She told with a casual tone, like it was just normal. Natashi frowned and then bursted out in laughter. The girls giggled as they were about to walk away.
''So, where are we going now?'' Shishi asked and Yumi answered.
''I know a good club where we can relax a bit.'' A moment later Natashi responded.
''Well Yumi, you won. So you may chose, I suppose.'' With Natashi saying that, Yumi flipped her hair back and let out a short laugh. She realized there was still time to party somewhere else. Where she hopefully wouldn't have to win another 'challenging game'.
After waiting for a moment, he noticed something was wrong, but waited for just a little moment longer before he felt a cold gust of air chill him. He could hear nor feel her breath anymore. Undoing the blindfold he noticed the door opened and the mess inside, and a single person outside, pointing at him and laughing. His mood plummeted below sea level as he put on his shirt and stormed outside, all the drunk feeling forgotten. Despite his best efforts his cheeks were red of anger and shame, and he was just in time to see nothing. All he saw was different groups of talking people, and random others walking all over the place. Ignoring the people who laughed at him, he used his dojutsu to quickly scan his surroundings, and was right in time to spot the girl who had tricked him into this. Following her and her group down the crowded street he got closer and closer, untill he caught flards of their conversation.
''Well Yumi, you won.'' What. The. Actual. Fuck. He froze in place, and upon taking a better look, he realized from where he had recognized that face. It WAS Yumi, but now without her steel expression and strict ANBU clothing and mask. It made him feel sick to have fallen for her tricks, and beyond infuriated. Catching a second conversation nearby because of a familiar voice, he heard Kaori talk to Hotaku about their past relationship, as if she was trying to explain why things never worked out. Quickly walking past and spying on them, he realized his fears had been ungrounded, and that Yumi's tricks were worse than what he had thoguht just a moment before.
He was far past the boiling point, and had to do his best not to explode in a burst of anger. Instead, he activated the camouflage jutsu and leaped away, onto a lanternpole, and from there on outside of Konohagakure. He crossed through the dense forest for a few hours, just running and jumping from branch to branch, untill he arrived at a lake created after a cliff had collasped. The location of his first mission ever, which had been destroyed by a shinobi's fight a few years ago. Here, he could finally let go of all the frustration, anger and guilt, and the rocks around him cracked from the intensity of the chakra burst he emitted before letting himself fall in the water. Time to cool off.
