Gahhahahahahahha I just had the best round of my life. Sadly I didn't win it, I'd have gotten over 9000 everything.
Simulator Battle event: On the streets of Berlin
Tier 4 ground and air forces battle on the new Eastern Europe map. No markers on allies nor enemies.
I drive the almighty Ostwind Flakpanzer.
I ended up taking down 5 IL-2's and 1 La-7. One by one thet started strafing our allied panzers with their rockets, bombs and 20mm cannons, and I could start picking them off at will because I can at least reliably hit close ranged planes coming fairly hard in my direction. After three plane kills (the La-7 who strafed me stupidly, two Il-2's strafing a crippled tiger II next to me, who survived) the enemy planes took note of my accuracy, and hordes and hordes of IL-2 began attacking me. After taking down another strafing IL-2 I manouvred myself out of the open field where I had 360° of directions to cover. At this point a lost AT round from our frontline struck me, crippling me as I cried and drove for cover. Our team was losing majestically. After losing 4 planes to me however, the enemy grew cautious. They organized their attacks to use the forest I used for cover to approach unnoticed, and I escaped being rocketed to death by a skilled IL-2 pilot by the skin on my teeth as he seemingly appeared out of nowhere. A second IL-2 was on me before I knew it, attacking from an entirely different direction. Eventually, he lost the race between his strafing run and my damaged turret rotation, and crashed into the ground fruitlessly. Now armed with the knowledge of this skilled IL-2 pilot existing, I avoided or forced him to abort his run twice as he stealthily attacked me over forests and through hills (flying admirably well and less than 30m high to avoid my gunfire) I finally caught him as he soared out of cover of another forest and ravaged his wing.
I congratulated him in the chat when suddenly 37mm rounds from the enemy AA started whizzing past me. Their AA truck hd spotted me and buffeted me with long range fire, which luckily did little to most of my vehicle from that range. I loaded APHE rounds and began returning fire with ranging shots as I tried to ignore the incoming rounds, which easily penetrated my turret, luckily overpenetrating without taking down any crewmembers so far. Eventually I took down the truck with two APHE rounds in its turret and suspension. At that point I was the last player in my team with less than 50 tickets left, a horribly crippled ostwind under my command, but a field of burning airplanes around me, and a burning AA truck 2km away.
I was victorious as the round ended before more enemies could find me.
A bit of luck is always nice.
Also, I had a round in my Hurricane in which I shot down the last enemy Yak-1B (German Yak derp) who was flying above our cruisers and being buffetted by AA, when my allied P-400 got shot down by allied AA and I was shredded aswell, eben though I managed to land at a nearby airfield. The Yak? No, he wasn't even hit once.
